Alpha Delta

istory
In February of 2005, Founding Soror Aprielle Anderson searched for an
organization on campus whose members were not only of diverse backgrounds,
but who also celebrated their uniqueness. After doing research, she stumbled
across the website of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. With the possibility of
a multicultural sorority coming to campus, the interest of 6 other women came--
Founding  Sorors Jasmine Cordell-Armstrong, Latonya Medlin, Antoinette Melvin,
Lindsey McDonald, Tasha Weaver, and Danielle Young. These seven women
eventually became Ascension, the Founding Line for Theta Nu Xi Multicultural
Sorority Inc.’s Alpha Delta Colony.

Working with the challenge of having three of the Founding Sorors graduate only
weeks after their emergence, Founding Sorors Jasmine Cordell-Armstrong,
Latonya Medlin, Antoinette Melvin, and Lindsey McDonald pulled together to
ensure that Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. would successfully thrive on the
campus of East Carolina University. They quickly created a vision for the chapter
and began to get to work. Though it proved difficult at times, they answered the
call of duty with integrity, making the name of Theta Nu Xi at East Carolina
University one of distinction.
